With the introduction of the
many Graphic Computer Programs within the last 2 Decades, Digital
Art or Computer Generated Images (C.G.I.'s [Human assisted of
course]) have come into their own of late.
As legitimate as this Art form
is there is a major hurdle to bound over, this being the public's
acceptance of C.G.I.'s as legitimate fine Art. Since there is
no tangible physical original Artwork to hang on your wall, Smoke
and Mirrors feels to bring C.G.I.'s into the main stream Art
world they must be reproduced in the same format as other Paintings
and Illustrations are. This method being either Limited Edition
Prints or Open Edition Lithographs.
This way the Art lover and collector
will feel comfortable enough to purchase and invest in this legitimate
Art form. Who knows maybe the original disc that holds the Digital
Image may be a collectable item, signed and dated by the Artist
of course.
Because all traditional original
Artwork to be reproduced must first be professionally photographed,
laser scanned then stored as a "Digital File" before
being converted to final film and plates for lithography. Smoke
and Mirrors is very comfortable in promoting C.G.I. Artists and
selling the images they create especially in the above mentioned
formats and we are extremely confident that once the general
public is exposed to these reproduced images that they will be
widely accepted.
