George B. Pendlebury

George, born in Montreal in 1943, earned a B.Sc. degree at McGill University. He moved to Calgary in 1968 to pursue a career as an exploration geologist in the petroleum industry.

Painting pictures of cars began as a hobby in 1986. The first public exhibition of his work occurred early in 1993. Later that year, George decided to devote full time to his art.

Most of the exposure to his work has been through public galleries in Alberta. However, George has also been invited to participate in exhibitions in the United States and Great Britain. His images can now be found in Canada, the United States, Great Britain, the Netherlands, Germany and Japan. Several of his paintings, focusing on automobile or architectural subjects, have received awards in various competitons.

Noted for its vivid colours, reflections and attention to detail, George's work is divided between commissions, both private and corporate, and personal projects.
