Norbert Lisinski's interest
in drawing and Art greatly increased in the fifth grade after
a class Art project. His interest was in drawing vehicles, already
creating drawings of trucks and cars for his friends, so he chose
to render a "Stutz Bearcat" in colored pencils. It
turned out so well that he felt encouraged to keep at it.
In high school Norbert transferred
to Wexford Collegiate's advanced Art program, graduating after
two years with honours. He then went on to George Brown College
to study graphic design, and graduated from there with honours
in 1985.
Before he started full-time
work, he did several watercolour "home" portraits,
gaining these commissions by going door-to-door. Since then he
has been working as a graphic designer for advertising agencies
and corporate marketing departments of major corporations. Norbert
has kept up the freelance work all along with numerous private
and corporate commissions, both illustrations and graphic design.
In the past he participated in the Arts Scarborough outdoor art
show at Thompson Park. He has had work displayed at the AJAC
"Art of the Automobile" juried competition at the Canadian
International Auto Show the past two years, and has sold work
to people from here, the United States and the U.K.
He hopes to get into the print
market eventually.
