A Toronto Artist who has been
drawing and painting for most of his life. It has been his experience
to explore a variety of mediums and techniques including custom
auto refinishing and Airbrush murals. In the past five years
he has returned to brushwork to satisfy a responsibility for
a slightly more direct and classic approach. Paul's work is based
on the inner need to express energy and power through form and
colour. How energy affects matter and the visual evidence of
this has become one of his favourite sources of inspiration.
Displayed here are some examples of his past explorations in
oils and the beginning of a series of paintings which are based
almost entirely on imagination and spontaneity. To temper this
extreme expression of colour, Paul has maintained the study of
the human figure as a distinct creative direction and focal point
for his charcoal drawings and paintings. Between these two widely
spaced genres in Art, Paul has found a strong sense of balance
and a never ending source of enthusiasm. |
