Ross P.
Losier, Born February 7, 1959, Oshawa, Ontario Canada.
I started drawing and painting
at the early age of ten, after being inspired by John Walters,
a family friend and artist from England. "I remember being
totally awestruck that someone could create something which looked
like the real thing; From just paper and paint and the power
of their imagination. From that moment I was hooked and I knew
that I wanted to do the same." Little did I know that at
the time it would take years and thousands of hours of practise
to become as good as this artist!
My interest in art continued
throughout my education, in grade school, high school and two
years of Graphic Arts in College.
People and their unique individuality,
places and times that have come and gone are a large influence
in my artwork.
In order to portray the image's
in a unique end result than would be expected; pushing each medium
to its extreme! When it results in something interesting or pleasing
it becomes its own reward. When works turn out less than expected,
a lesson has been learned and in turn applied to future pieces.
I am currently focusing my work
toward the medium of pencil. In ranges of 5H Hard through 6B
Soft. The range of Black and White contrast in shading has an
interest and difficulty which appeals to my sense of artistic
challenge.
All my works are available for
rent to corporations, offices and restaurants.
Orders for limited editions,
commissions and or original pieces available upon request.
